Oly C2000Z & EpsonPhoto 700

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a Oly C2000Z and a Epson Photo 700. What ever I print looks horrible. What is the best way to print photos. I know prints CANNOT be exactly alike due to one being RGB and other being CYMK. Basically need to know the tricks of printing better than average prints. Most of my shots are 1024X768 16 million colrs. Help!

The first question is: What kind of printer do you have? The second question is: What software are you using to view and edit the pictures.

The problem could be your software you are using to print (actually, it's settings for printing). Look at Imaging Resources Tips and FAQ's page under "How big can I print?" for more information.

You can also choose to go the easier rout (rather than testing the settings one by one for your printer), and use special printing software as I do. I found a program, Photo Assistant 98 Light from Easytek (www.easytek.com/eng/inedx.htm), that automatically queries the chosen print driver for it's optimum settings. Since I started using it, prints have looked much better (the Epson Stylus Photo didn't hurt either- was using an HP Deskjet 712c).

Your photo 700 is a fine printer as well. Try "www.tssphoto.com/sp/dg/" for some alternatives to ink and paper needs. They have a lot of archival quality stuff there.
