Why do you think the unions, big business, & politicians are waging class warfare afgainst the poor(both working and not), young, and retired poor I am no longer a in this state?

What do we get for our taxes in this state? We have no universal health insurance, no pay at the pump liability insurance but lots of ticket revenue for the courts and state, lousier schools, free lunches only for the poor but not for taxpayers kids who are paying the bills, skyrocket costs for higher education,prison--not help--for the mentally ill and just plain depressed, more prison for the disadvantaged, a transportation system designed for commerce almost solely and not for us, and an MVET that the politicians use for whatever they want with no personal or social responsibility to taxpayer & the young and poor that they gouge. This state used to be a pretty nice state, but in the last 20 years has become meaner and meaner and meaner. The gov, unions, and big business only cares if I pay my taxes, and other than that I can just go to hell. The government sereves the unions and big business, but the government says it is there for me,but the only thing they want citizens for is to pay the freight for all of them so they can have personal profits, revenue, and power.

I thought 'big business' was against 695, are you saying that a vote for 695 would help the poor?

Quite to the contrary, 695 would make vehicle taxes regressive, like our sales tax.

A vote against 695 is a vote FOR the poor. Currently rich folks pay more for tabs, these are the people are consuming the expensive RVs and SUVs shown in the graphic on pro 695 web page. People who can afford these more expensive cars pay in schedule with their vehicles' value to help the poor get around, by providing for lower tab prices and public transportation to those who can't afford a car, or an expensive car at least.

Who you trying to kid, Billie. If Joe Sixpack spends a hundred dollars and rich guy spends a hundred dollars both pay $8+ sales tax.

If Joe Sixpack goes out and gets a car with a $500 MVET he likely rolls the MVET into the financing at 8-10%, continuing to pay the interst on it for four or five years. Worse yet, he may put MVET renewals on credit card, paying as much as 20-22% over the next year. Since he takes a standard deduction, he gets nothing back from uncle sugar, either. Rich guy pays $500 cash for MVET, and deducts it on his income taxes. If he's in the 35% marginal rate, ucles sugar kicks back $175 on his tax return.

Joe Sixpack ends up paying $550-600, rich guy winds up paying $325 the first year, and the disparity keeps on for subsequent years.

This is considerably more regressive than the sales tax.

Billy, are you just abysmally ignorant of marginal tax rates, or are you seizing any argument, however bogus, to help to support big government?
