I think Letterman Gets It.

Yea... that was pretty funny. He gives Joe G., a local shopowner, 30 seconds to check his store to see if it's Y2K ready. Joe stands there like a deer in the headlights wondering what the hell Dave is talking about as the clock ticks down. At the end, Joe gets a Y2K ready award and two hookers kiss him and give him flowers.

Kinda like in the real world...

Those weren't hookers! Those were BABES!

When do mine show up?

I saw the sketch last night, too, and thought it was hilarious! I wouldn't be surprised to find that more people across the land learned more things about Y2K from Letterman than they have from all of the "official" information reported in the media...

Yeah, Dave gets it big time. Best y2k humor I've seen yet. That's why he'll be hunkerin down in that 32nd story bunker LOL.

Letterman commented during Gil lian Anderson's appearance last January that he started looking into Y2K late in 1998:

LETTERMAN: All right, let's just... Let's come back to this. We'll go to another topic.

GILLIAN: Okay, all right.

LETTERMAN: Are you concerned about the end of the Millennium? (laughter)

GILLIAN: Actually, you know what? I actually have been doing a lot of research on Y2K. I have indeed. Did you... Do you have a specific question? Am I interrupting?

LETTERMAN: I have many. (laughter) (cheers and applause) Well, it's my show. I've got to talk occasionally.

GILLIAN: Okay.

LETTERMAN: No, this is how dumb I am. I didn't know anything about the Y2K till a couple of months ago, and I'm thinking, I'm thinking, well, certainly people must have been working on this since like the 1940's, and it turns out nobody's been working on it at all...

I do not take Letterman as a serious host for a topic as this. I do not give him the time of day..
