What Percentage Military?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just a short posting on the quantity of former or current military personnel in our little forum? I'm curious because of as of late, the people in my community appear to be the ones who either served an number of years in the armed forces, or were veterans who saw a war/combat/some really freaky shit while in the uniform. I wonder if this is indicative of the overall preparedness group scene as a whole. I qual on all of the above counts, but I'm wondering how many more of you out there are vets? Myself, I believe that the vets are more aware of Y2K because we know firsthand how much Uncle Sugar likes to do the bend-and-pump sans lube. BOHICA!(bend over, here it comes again!) So tell! How many vets in the house?

Formerly an "officer and a gentleman" in the U.S. Naval Reserve; served two years active duty. Knowing what I know now, I might have gone to Canada, instead.

Probably boggles the mind of a few of you, that I, resident curmudgeon and sometimes potty mouth, was once an "officer and a gentleman." Was pretty spiffy, too. But that was then, and this is now.

Just a military "brat" here, but I'm glad this thread was started.

Why? Because I owe all of you a big thank you, for having served your country (for those of you former American military) and keeping it safe for my family.

Here's my opportunity to express that gratitude.

A big thank you to all of you!
