Are there any questions that new orienteers (or people who have not yet tried orienteering) have?

If the answer is "yes" -- this forum is a great place to post the questions. One reason is that you can probably get a quick (and good) answer to your question. Another reason is that I hope to use this forum to develop a source of information for people to use in the future. We can use the questions and answers to build something like a "freqently asked questions." But, we need some of those questions to be asked (and answered) first!
