The report card does not bode well for our country. It may become moot whether or not the business world "makes it". ONE PERCENT progress in THREE MONTHS.

Gotta get more food... (and ammo. LOTS of ammo)

Rep. Horn's "report card" was just mentioned by Peter Jennings on ABC. He said there were concerns about Medicaire, Medicaid and some military systems.

Go to High Impact Federal Program's Year 2000 Readiness and check out the status of the Health and Human Services systems including Medicare and Medicaid.

Now go to the Transpotation department's systems and check out the Ait Traffic Control System. Hoffmeister, front and center please. If you have any pull with Congressman Horn can we please get this status changed immediately!!

Lastly, please DOUBLE UP on ALL preps!!

I'll pick up a few extra items on my way to church tonight and finish the chicken coops tomorrow (Hens have been too young for the adult cages until now...)

From his opening statement:

" "For more than three years, our subcommittees have prodded agencies in the executive branch of the federal government to prepare their critical computer systems for the Year 2000. Now, only 112 days remain until Jan. 1, 2000 and the job is still not completed. Progress during this quarter, which ended on August 15, is discouraging. The flurry of activity we saw among federal agencies earlier this year has slowed to a snails pace."
