THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary (Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii)

___________________________________________________________________________ ________________ For Immediate Release September 10, 1999

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

Let me address the deteriorating situation in East Timor. I am alarmed by reports I have just received of attacks on the United Nations compound in Dili.

It is now clear that the Indonesian military is aiding and abetting the militia violence. This is simply unacceptable. The actions of the Indonesian military in East Timor stand in stark contrast to the commitments they have given to the international community.

The Indonesian government and military must reverse this course, to do everything possible to stop the violence, and allow an international force to make possible the restoration of security.

Is it your opinion that *no* other events or issues in the entire world are worth your attention except for Y2K?

Perhaps the people presently being massacred in East Timor--by military forces trained and armed with the help of the United States-- will take solace in the fact that their plight is a mere distraction.

Amazing how quickly we responded to the outcry in Kosovo when Slick Will was up to his ass in alligators. "Now Timor...Hmmmmmm. Hilliary and me are gettin' along jes fine, so Timor? Wha...? Wheres that?" Nothing like a strongly worded press release to scare the bejabbers out of those little machete weilding savages. What Timor needs to do is hire some chick to 'suck on the CinC' and drop photos off at the Times. THAT might get the ball rolling....

The outcome of this all depends on what Clinton's financier's; the Riady's tell him they want done.

The Riady's were the major financial backers of Bill Clinton in both 1992 and 1996, they herald from Indonesia, Jakarta is their world HQs. They were also in the center of the DNC fundraising scandal.

They bought and paid for Billy Blythe here, they (and the Chinese) will dictate what actions we are to take in East Timor.

Isn't it nice to know, the United States no longer has sovereignty over our Foreign policy? It goes to the highest campaign contributor.

Oh, well, you American's didn't care about character in either of the last two elections...We shall reap what we deserve. And it's coming.

Wait until the tangible threat of Chinese nukes comes knocking on our door. This is nothing.
