The Sept. NERC "Readiness" and "Readiness with Exceptions" lists are online.

The NERC "Y2K Ready" and "Y2K Ready with limited exceptions" list of utilities has been posted online:

ftp://ftp.nerc.com/pub/sys/all_updl/docs/y2k/y2kreadysept62.pdf

Keep in mind that this list is composed only of those bulk (major generating) utilities and control center utilities (sometimes small) which NERC itself has been tracking, and does not include the rest of the utilities in the country. (Up to about 7000 if you include distribution.)

Some large utilities with limited exceptions include:

Ameren, Cilco, Conectiv, Duke Energy (Western), FirstEnergy, GPU Companies, Minnesota Power, Montana Power, Nevada Power, NIPSCO, Portland General Electric, SCANA, Texas-New Mexico Power Company, TXU (formerly Texas Utilities), United American Energy Corporation, Virginia Power and Wisconsin Electric Power Company.

City utiltiies with limited exceptions include:

Taunton Municipal, Tacoma Public Utilities, Seattle City Light Department, Sacramento Municipal, Owensboro Municipal, Golden Valley Electric, Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, Eugene Water and Electric Board, Dayton Power and Light, Colorado Springs Utilities, City of Vero Beach, City of Tallahassee Florida, City of Springfield Illinois, City of Pasadena, City of Columbia MO, and the City of Anaheim.

Some other entities with limited exceptions include:

ERCOT ISO, GPU International MAAC, GPU International NPCC, MAAP, PJM Interconnection, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, and Western Area Power Administration.

The above is not a complete list of the limited exceptions. To see the "Summary of Non-Nuclear Exceptions Reports" updated for August, go to:

ftp://ftp.nerc.com/pub/sys/all_updl/docs/y2k/appendixc-august.pdf

These are listed by anonymous utility numbers instead of by name as in the other list. Those items finished in August have been checked off.

By the way, has anybody else been having problems accessing this forum recently? And I am NOT saying it has anything to do with Y2K, but either my ISP or phone connection has gone completely screwy since midnight and I'm going to send this before I get kicked off for the 11th time.

Don't be silly, Bonnie. These exceptions are irrelevant. All of them were always ready. They never had to do one blessed thing. They spent a lot of time and a lot of money for nothing, just because... well, just because. So there. ;-)

Hi Bonnie, I also have been getting jammed at the forum. I get messages that the server has been reset, then try again and I can access. Alex
