UK Government Gives Final Y2K Warning!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Here we are with 115 days remaining and the BBC reports that the British government has decided it's time to warn business. Just in the nick of time, I'd say! Phew - I thought they were sunk.

Final Y2K Warning To Business

Yep, it's your 'last chance' to get all these compliance statements out (and replied to) from your suppliers and take remedial action ....

"In view of Action 2000's recent announcements on software product compliance, we also want to encourage all companies to re-check their IT systems as well as the IT compliance statements they have received."

[snip]

"Action 2000 accepts no responsibility for the content of, or actions arising from, information contained in this publication. "

Just as well really .... with 80 working days to go it really IS the last chance .....

What???? You think a warning NOW is "in the nick of time?" LOL

NOW is just enough time to TALK about Y2K. They should have started Years ago. I hope that statement was said in the spirit of sarcasm.

Hey, somebody come up with a computer inflection symbol that indicates sarcasm. karen
