Post baby photos on the web

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am looking for a digital camera for less than $500 to post baby/child photographs on the web. I have a computer to which no additional hardware can be attached, so essentially I need a camera which can store images on a floppy and be used on my hard drive. Thanks in advance for suggesstions.

Well, you have a couple of choices. A Mavica camera which saves the pictures to a Floppy Disk, or a Camera that uses a floppy drive adapter. (Unfortunately, I don't know which cameras use this adapter. The Mavica Cameras (FD73 or 83) have a max resolution of 640x480 and the file size is ideal for uploading to the web. I believe the FD-73 model can be found for 500 or less.

The Mavica is ideal for what you want Shyam. An FD73 can be found for under $500, saves directly to floppies, image quality is excellent for it's modest resolution (which is more than enough for placing photos on the web).
