Is it worth buying? Yes.

Well, you could read the review of the Rebel G, for all intensive purposes a darn simliar camera, in the photo.net Canon review section. It lays out the lay of the camera pretty well.

You're real worry is that a good lens is the key to a good image, along with a bit of savvy and technique. Lenses cost a bit more than this body, but a couple good lenses, say a 50 and 100mm, will do you a lot of good.
