buying pet food on the internet

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread

I have a very sweet Maine Coon. I feed him Iams Eukanuba because that's what his breeder fed him. I live in a rural area, so it isn't sold close to me. I usually just stock up when I can. I was wondering if anybody knew of any places on the internet to buy cat food where you can get good deals. I would appreciate any info.

Thanks!

I'm not sure it's a deal, but Petstore.com has a variety of food. I ordered from there last night for the first time. My Maine Coon, Nash, likes only Nutro Venison and Duck. The venison is very difficult to find even though I live in the San Francisco area. It seems to be about .07 - .08 cents a can more than I pay locally. But they do not charge shipping for anything less than 50 lbs. Let me know what you think about www.Petstore.com.

Petstore.com is currently having a special! Any purchase of $20 or more and you receive a $10 discount, plus free shipping. I'm on their mailing list and always get e-mails about specials. I've ordered from them before and have always been very satisfied. I usually wait until they have some sort of special. I think this is a very good site and they offer a good variety of products.

Would like to add my positive feedback for Petstore.com They were most helpful when I ordered. I had questions about some food and was able to talk to a nice rep there. My coon girls love Iams too. Also I contacted Iams customer service and they told me their customer service would ship to me direct. I have a motor skills handicap and it's sometimes hard for me to lift large bag. It's always better if UPS can bring it.

In contrast, I wish to say--There may be some people who had good experiences with PETS.com but I wasn't one of them. They sent me the wrong item. I had to spend 2X what the item cost to ship it back for exchange. They didn't have the exchange item and took 3 wks to refund my credit card. I wrote customer service with my concerns and never got a reply. Finally mailed the item back with a note enclosed and still got no contact.
