There are actually another couple articles that are equally as interesting on the Spiegel site on that date. One gives readers a general overview about possible y2k issues with a kind "don't worry be happy undertone. The other is a very good piece on how fragile the infrastructure is. Describes in detail what happens if certain nuke plants go out.

If interest is there I will post the URL. But keep in mind it's in german.
