I know it's a corny question, but what's your favourite song?

Of all time, Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles. Of the moment, Just by Radiohead, One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces by Ben Folds Five, and Polyester Bride by Liz Phair.

Oh geez, you mean I gotta choose just one? Sorry, can't do it. (Anyone who's read my journal knows that I have a whole page dedicated to songs that hit you right where you're most vulernable.) I can tell you that my favorite song of the moment is "Worlds Apart" by the Christian band Jars of Clay. Other favorites:

* Metallica - "Hero of the Day", "Nothing Else Matters", "Turn The Page", "One", "Master of Puppets" * just about any Meat Loaf song * R.E.M. - "Everybody Hurts" * Oasis - "Champagne Supernova" * DC Talk - "Jesus Freak", "What If I Stumble?", "My Friend (So Long)" * Alanis Morissette - "Ironic", "Uninvited", "Thank U"

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I can't really name one favorite song, just a whole bunch of songs that I really love.

Oh bugger. I had the carriage returns set up all nice and everything and it turns out a mess. Well, each asterisk (*) is supposed to be a new line, mmkay?

Well, if by songs you mean music with lyrics I'll have to throw out my entire jazz CD collection for this discussion. Like others there is no way I can limit myself to one favorite, so I'll give you a choice (in no particular order):

But if I had to pick only one, it would be:

If I Could Change My Life, Robert Earl Keene

because it changed my life.

Surely the 'You and me song' by the Wannadies and (none of you will have heard of these) 'In My Hair' by the Candyskins and 'Sharks' by Silver Sun are 3 of the most beautiful songs of the ninties. For pure rock brilliance see 'Debaser' by the Pixies
