Printing Photos on a Epson 740 - please help!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

hi gang

well, i just got into digital photography and I decided to purchase the newly released Kodak DC 215 millenium edition and an epson 740 printer. anyways, i am using adobe photodeluxe to view my pics. I usually shoot my pics in the 215s highest resolution - 1152x864. this transaltes to a pic size of 17x19 or something to that effect. what i would like to do is print this image on epsons 4x6 photo paper. naturally, i resize it so that it is 4x6. at least thats what adobe says. when i print preview this pic, it only prints at 2x. what gives? i have chosen the correct paper size. can someone walk me thru this? t

Well, I can't help you with the problem directly. All I can do is offer advice on another piece of software specifically designed for printing photo's. The software is called Photo Assistant 98 Light, from Easytek (www.easytek.com). It will allow you to select the correct printing DPI for your print driver (it uses information from the selected print driver to suggest a printing DPI), will automatically crop or let you manually crop pictures, and is free to try for 30 days (only $29 US).

I just bought it and can tell you from experience, It will produce better prints than Photoshop or Photodelux, and a lot easier. You can also make your own layout templates and save them!
