Hi all,

I'm in the process of deciding between the Olympus 340R and the Canon PowerShot A50. There's doesn't seem to be much difference other than that the Canon offers optical zoom. Anyone know why there's such a big price difference: $263 vs. $425? Anyone who has opinions on these cameras, please feel welcome to share!

A50 has optical zoom 340 doesn't. A more reasonable comparison would be A50 vs oly 400. image quality goes down the tubes when you use "digital zoom", optical zoom makes a big different in camera price. A50 is a winner if small size is very important.
