Twain Acquire Software

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hi, I would really appreciate any help for this type of problem.

I own a 75mhz pentium laptop and plan on purchasing the Kodak DC240. Now all the software is on one CD. The problem is (other than my slow laptop) that I don't have a CD drive. I've downloaded the shareware version of CaptureEze hoping that I will be able to capture images from that software. And after reading the help file that came with it, I discovered that the software will be able to capture images from any digital camera through the Twain Acquire Software that comes with the DC240. Is there any way that I can download this Twain device from the internet so that I won't have to find a way to extract the device from the CD? And how would I be able to connect the Kodak DC240 to my laptop? Via the serial port?

Any help would be grateful. Thank you.
