Y2K Farm Tours on Sept. 11 At Kokopelli Farms., Sebastopol

Shpeherd Bliss, owner of Kokopelli Farms will host a tour of his farm on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10-11:30 a.m. to illustrate ways of sustainable living.

"Our farm tours are designed for those interested in learning about farming and/or gardening, as well as living in harmony with nature. Tours include lively discussions with invited guests who have thought about self-sufficiency and preparing for V2K, so they have a strong practical component," he reported

Bliss and his chickens were featured in a June 4 San Francisco Chronicle article, where he said: "Most people are disconnected from their food sources. Tours give me a chance to help people understand where their food comes from and how they might be able to produce some of their own."

Tours include a demonstration of raising chickens, which can provide eggs and good food for people during emergencies and food shortages. Bliss, quoted in a June 15 Press Democrat article on Y2K and chickens, said: "Who knows what's going to happen. There may be some level of disruption, but chickens will continue. They won't be disrupted. Chickens were here before humans and it's likely they'll be here after humans."

Tours occur exclusively within the two acres of Kokopelli Farm. They typically include about 10 to 20 people, and can be scheduled when there is enough interest. A $5 fee is charged.

By reservation only, ca
