What me Worry???

I received this reply from my local news organization. This should not worry me in the least but will explain the lack of news coverage my area is receiving.

I have no idea who Mr. Koskinen is. The President's Y2K Council on Y2K Preparedness is the main sponsor of the event. The City of Cedar Rapids, KCRG and the Iowa Bankers Association are also sponsors.
------ Bob Smith, News Director KCRG

Let's see now--"Y2K" means?

Good to see the bankers getting involved--very civic-minded, they are.

Does anyone know the collective term for bankers (e.g. a 'shrewdness' of monkeys or a 'herd' of sheep')?

Could it be 'wunch'?

Y2K Gardner, I believe the term is 'vise'.

Iowa is one of the first states declared compliant. Now you stop worrying young man and listen to Bob Smith's news. He's on top of things.

Thanks Lisa - it seems that my amateur attemt at humor has failed. I'm off to alt.humor.really.really.funny.oh.yes.

That Bob Smith, KCRG's news director, could be unaware of Koskinen at this late date is a sad commentary on the state of affairs there. It also speaks volumes about the Cedar Rapids Gazette (the newspaper is KCRG's parent company).

Can you say "not even on our radar screens..."?

Gardener and Lisa,

I always thought a group of bankers was refered to as a "pucker".

"A pucker of bankers were assembled on one side of the room, while a grudge of lawyers blocked the doorway, and baffle of bureaucrats began to pick through the bones."
