Can someone please comment on when, if, and why Firewire (IEEE 1394) connectivity is not mentioned on any digital cameras? It seems to be standard issue on digital camcorders, for which I have invested in a Radius board with Moto/EditDV. All I am seeing is USB or serial.

Comments on pro's and con's? I have a Power Computing PTPro with 400Mhz G3 card and a 36Gb RAID for image handling, and do not want to go the USB route which would take up my last PCI slot. (USB-SCSI is not ready for prime time from what I am reading)

there are several dvideo cams with firewire, but u also need a firewire board which uses also a slot.. greatinx fk
