Michael Hyatt is all about making money for Michael Hyatt. Hey, this is called free enterprise and it makes our world go round an' round. He just sugar coats his intentions more than most. The stuff he sells are valuable prep components but many others sell the same items for less without the bullshit. Kind of like your local church doubling as a Wal-Mart.

Over the past 18 months I have seen many newgroups, forums and websites that were very helpful to me in my y2k preps. Many persons have made some money while at the same time providing a service (free information). Many items I have needed were not available at WalMart and I have used the net to secure those type items. Nobody twisted my arm to make me buy their products and I certainly appreciate the body of information provided by Cory, Gary, Ed, Michael, Karen....etc.
This past week I attended the Surplus Show in Vegas. While I consider myself retired I still have a small paper & plastic distribution business and a small swapmeet business. This show is in Vegas twice each year (Feb & August) and fills up the Hilton Expo center and the Sands Expo center. There are hundreds of booths exhibiting camping and survival gear. Needless to say this one had more Y2k type items than ever. I will be selling some very neat items over the next four months at the swaps. Am I investing in these items JUST for the profit....I don't think so.
Today in the mail I received a letter from the largest paper & plastic master distributor in the country. They discuss their ongoing efforts to be y2k ready and list all of their suppliers who SAY they are ready and those who SAY they are still working on it. It is total self-reporting with no real verification.
To believe that Y2k has been fueled by a bunch of nuts out to make a buck is pure BS.
