development time for HP5+ at ASA 200

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I shot 1 roll of HP5+ at ISO 200 and couldn't find the development time for D76 or any other developer. Some one has this info? I will probably use D76 .

Just reduce your standard development time by about 10-15%.

+My students have been using HP5+ with HC110 solution B at 68 degrees 5 minutes as recommended by Ilford with great results. You may need to adjust the time per your working stype, enlarger, paper, etc. but try that and then see how you like the results. I encourage all my students to shoot at half the recommended ISO no matter what the film type (negative film that is)then check the results, i always have 1 or 2 out of a group of 20 that will need to change back to 400 . Most love the results they are getting by adding that extra stop.

HP5+ EI 200 ID-11 1+1 20C for 10 minutes produces excellant prints for me. ID-11 and D76 are supposed to be very simular / interchangeable.
