OT? Hormel profits up 41 percent all products

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Yesterday's quarterly report for Hormel which makes Dinty Moore, Spam, and other delicious (?!) canned items essential to one's Y2K preps said all product lines are doing well and profits were up 41 percent--I presume this is quarter over last year's quarter. We have done our job in helping a company that had one of the longest-running and bitterest labor disputes ever (a few years ago) recover.

Funny, all the cattlemen are losing $ on every head they raise. The production of hogs and poultry is nearly all from factory farms...big corporations paying aggie grads $24,000 to overfeed, medicate, light, and confine to the inth, chickens and pigs in a way that maximizes profits. This corp farming fits in best with central control. If we were all small farmers with good gardens it would take them much longer to load the relief trucks.

And if nothing happens....they'll go bankrupt next year!

( Not saying I think nothing will happen)
