Games that do not Play Back

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I've compiled a list of games that do not play back, i've found out that frontline and konamigt seem to playback ok, however i haven't been able to boot linux up to test the xmame recordings, but all the others playback fine. The game is listed with out a (comment) if i couldn't play it back in any circumstances. Please add or make corrections to this list in response to this message.

neocup98

kizuna (works only in dos)

fightfev

doubledr (only in version mame34 or less)

flipshot (only against cpu)

breakers

breakrev

lastbld2

wakuwak7 (only in version m35b10 or less)

alpine (only in version mame34 or less)

alpinea (only in version mame34 or less)

frontlin (in all versions except xmame OR versions mame35 or less. Kaup?)

depthch (confirmed m34b3 score can't be played back had screenshot)

carnival (only in version m33b4 or less?)

carnvckt (not in m33b4 so no version works)

konamigt (seems to work, except for the xmame which i can't verify at the moment)

rf2 (ditto)

this is a list of non-clone games that do not have screenshots. i didn't go through them all to see which ones were lame or not but i'll bet most of them are not playbackable or unplayable.

Chad, Couple of things: Alpine Ski does playback Two: Game without screenshots do not necessary mean they are duds... Some are just because someone hasn't got around to putting a screen shot on them. I am at the moment compiling my list, will be here shortly.

alpine + alpinea do playback, i couldn't play back the lagavulin m35bX recording and since it was the only one that didn't playback or wasn't confirmed i figured everyone was using an earlier version, but it just did record fine with m36b2, so those could proly come off the list. and btw, they do have screenshots since they are playable, but not necesarily playbackable.

frontlin does not record and playback in xmame36b2, I recorded konamigt for half a lap in xmame and it played back fine. I"ll try a whole recording later.

rampage & clones (using win35 does not seem to be playbackable)

which sucks cause i really wanted to see that 200k rec, octavian!

playing back the 200k rampage with win35 worked today, thanks oct cool score. I would reccomend using the 34 version in future recordings unless the emulation is tweaky then.

alpham2 (doesn't seem to playback passed the 2nd Boss in mame36b3)

alpham2 (bubbles rec has played back at 2M but not at posted score, i still can't get it passed 340000 even with bubbles mame.cfg and no F10 throttling so i believe there is a rec playback problem)

superman (m36b3 bubbles rec also doesn't playback passed 195000 for me, the m34 and m35 recs played back ok)

sfposeid (modifications in frameskipping mess playback up, but playsback fine in standard F10 throttle.)

-- Chad (churritz@cts.com), September 02, 1999.

headon2 (can't playback at all since introduced in m35b2)

-- Chad (churritz@cts.com), September 02, 1999.

frontlin (may experience playback problems if frameskip is modified, Dave's xmame rec plays back only on frameskip 0)

-- Chad (churritz@cts.com), September 12, 1999.

depthch (introduced in m33b5, one version late of it probably working in m33b4)
