On SCL E-8A #597 what are the correct grills to use, using life like's proto 2000 E-8a? I have only seen one photo of this unit, and I can't tell by the photo if the side grills are of the vertical or horizontal type. thank you for any help.

You can find a photo of SCL 597 at http://www.dnaco.net/~gelwood/. The contrast isn't that great but the grills look vertical to me.

Use the vertical slit grills. It was a "late" E-8, nee SAL 3057.
