Finally, an acceptable novel about y2k.

Finally someone wrote a novel about y2k that is somewhat appropriate. It doesn't swamp you with what "a good Christian" should do or even give you any tips for surviving (unless you read between the lines). It is a novel with the intent of entertaining not educating.m Written by Mark Joseph, the author of 'Typhoon" and "Sink the Potemkin", it is a story about New York and y2k. He researched it pretty well but it's obvious he is not a programmer or geek. Still, all in all, a good read.

Name: DEADLINE Y2K ISBN 0-312-20202-4 Hardback edition is 24.95

Found mine at Books-a-Million. None of the big name bookstores will carry anything about y2k. "It doesn't sell" according to B&N manager.

Enjoy. Don't bother flaming, I didn't write it.

Amazon.com has it in paperback for about six dollars. Thanks for the review.

Funny how I was in KC last weekend (Overland Park to be exact) and both the Borders and the one Barnes & Noble had noticable Y2K displays. The B&N one was a whole table with more books than you could shake a stick at. Also back in May I was in a B&N in Iowa and they also had a large display of Y2K books. I would say it is your specific manager.

I get my y2k books at Borders, here on Kaua'i. Of course, the other bookstore might have some, too...

Just...you may well be right. Trouble is, I just came back from Charlotte and it's the same way there. "Y2k? It just doesn't sell". That's the point I was trying to make.
