Vigilante justice - post y2k? Would we see a return of the hanging rope? Lynching was still practiced in the south and west a hundred years ago. In Ft Smith, Ark. Hanging Judge Parker was in business and down Pecos, Tex. way Judge Roy Bean was also hard at work.I remember a movie, The Ox-Bow Incident, (early 40's) in which vigilantes hung the wrong people. Would we see a return to the "old west" instant punishment if there was a break down in law and order?
I remember part of my boy scout work was learning to tie lots of practical knots. We had a board with about 20 different examples of the various knots. I don't think the hangman's knot was one of them.

My use of rope will be limited to hanging myself if i could no longer deal with the stress.I know it's a coward out but there aren't going to be strinks around to talk to after y2k.
