How do you 'enable' a COM2 port that is not activated on a PC? This is needed to transfer a digital photo to a PC>

I need to have the COM2 enabled so that I can transfer a digital photo from my digital camera to my PC. My operating system is WIN98 and my camera is a Poloroid PDC 640.

1st place you want to check is your BIOS, make sure it's not disabled. Second, check the Device Manager in Control Panel, under System, to make sure there are no conflicting devices. Third, under control panel, "ports" should be listed. This is where you would add a Com port, such as Com 2.

After checking the points the previous poster raised, try having a look at the Serial Port Faq I wrote for the Imaging Resource if you'rbe still having trouble. The link is: http://www.imaging-resource.com/TIPS/SDEBUG1/SDEBUG1.HTM

If you're still having trouble write back here or email me directly with more info about your situation and I'll see if I can help.

Good Luck!
