Smaller stops on 67 lenses

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

I have long considered sending a message to Pentax, Japan to suggest that they make a tilt 105 or 200mm. The lenses would be very expensive so maybe a better idea would be to suggest having them make the diaphragms stop down further. The 67 is very limited in DOF compared with 35mm cameras. This limitation is what prompted me to consider the alternatives. The Fuji 680 being one of them. More realistic though, I would prefer that Pentax optimise their lenses. A 45mm with an f/45 stop would be useful. Diffraction would be a concern with a 1mm aperture and would limit sharpness a bit. The 200mm lens with an f/90 stop would yield excellent DOF while having an aperture of about 2mm. I would happily trade a small amount of sharpness due to diffraction for increased DOF. SR
