Response to How high is mont blanc? Where is it at? What is the average temprature? Who discovered it and when? What are some towns or village near Mont Blanc?

Hi Kellie,

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps. The nearest town is Chamonix, France, and the summit is 4807m (~15,800 feet). It was first climbed by Balmat and Paccard 08-08-1786, at round 6pm.

The temperature question is a bit tougher to answer. It depends on the season, weather, wind and all. Say in July, the temperature in Chamonix can be about 25C and around -5C on the summit, but the wind can be blowing at round 100km/h up there... In the winter it's colder, of course.

Hope this helps.
