TB2K Tracks Y2K Neatly and An Offer

That's one solution. Another is supporting more deleteing on TBY2K.

Thoughts?

Di, See my answer on BD's thread. It may ramble and may not offer a lot of clarity or closure, but, well......

I'll probably actively support whatever happens.

And if you need help with the kwys to TB2K Calassic, I AM available. Politically, having another "Mad Deleter" sysop MIGHT just solve the problem. Blame the Mad Deleter.

Mad Deleter...eh...just blame it on Millennial Madness.

I'm up for a private forum as outlined but I honestly like the diversity of the classic forum.

Take a look at the "Y2k Satire" forum that the pollys started. It's dead. I mean DEAD. Posters are answering themselves : )

I don't know if interest can be maintained if all views are skewed toward one point of view. Maybe because there is diversity in the views of the Y2k Aware it would work fairly well.

Mike, If Di were to accept my offer, the POINT of VIEW would NOT necessarily be the delete criteria, as much as HOW the PoV wsa EXPRESSED. I KNOW I'm in the grey twilight zone which separates the OK from the NOT OK, but, for at least a few weeks, the forum needs this. We have lost our ability to be civil. It'll have to be enforced until we rediscover it.

i have NO illusions about how I would be viewed, or how the deletes would be received. SO?

And again, lest ANYONE make the wrong assumptions, i am NOT trying to take things over. GOD FORBID!! I am simply offering myself as a possible "Guest moderator/Mad Deleter", who has an axe to grind. That axe is the regrettable loss of civility.

If the "market niche" for the new forum was Y2K Recover issues... it might work?

Assume "X" problems... these are solutions? Or what are good solutions?

And if the new forum were to look at "How to pass through the roll- over, and strategies for rebuilding after" i would REALLY be interested. If this will be a place to EXPLORE options and different scenarios, it would be GREAT!! C

I'm not sure i care WHO wrote that one, it's DEAD ON!!

Gee, ya don't suppose that whoever that is is really a closet good guy?? I know, watch for the shedding wool out of season...

I gotta say, Kelly seems to really "think" about things and isn't so entrenched in his own personal views that he can't see valid points on both sides of the issue.

I really like what he wrote here.

Chuck, I've had the pleasure of reading your words and getting to know you for some time and you always can count on my support. I have no problem with the deleteing threads or posts that are irrelevant and provide no information or insight.

As for the Recovery Forum, I really like that idea alot. I lurk on the Prep forum and it's amazing how successful it is and how useful it is. I think on some days I'm too close to the issues and the problems on the Classic forum and it would be great to start thinking about what can be done not only after the rollover but even before then to facilitate recovery.

As for Diane...well...she's a hero of mine : )

Keep it simple. Ignore or delete.

Think about what Hardliner is saying.

Where did you put your energy today?

Got a troll thread? Ignore.

Got a troll response? Delete.

Once again, where do you choose to focus your energy?

Agree Critt,

Tired of focusing my energy on HTML mess-ups and trolls.

(Thanks Michael).
