Arc Welders-- What Brand Name?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread

I AM CONSIDERING BUYING A LARGER ARC WELDER. I AM WONDERING ABOUT THE BRAND NAME. I AM LOOKING AT MILLER,LINCOLN, AND ALSO HOBART. DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMENDATIONS OR PRO'S AND CON'S ON THESE MANUFACTURES. THE MODELS THAT I AM INTERESTED IN ARE GASOLINE MODELS THAT WILL BE ON THE BACK OF MY PICKUP TRUCK. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN PROVIDE. JOHN KRUPALLA

Response to arc welders

A good place to ask this question is the sci.engr.joining.welding newsgroup. From the www you can access it at http://www.deja.com . Good luck.

We use a Miller 250NT. Good machine, has 10KW power output, mig taps and starts every time. The Linxcon Ranger is also a good machine but it is full of electronics which cost a blody fortune to replace. The Miller is MUCH more bullet proof!
