BBH: Oh no, I don't believe it... :( my score defeated..

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Man, I've been playing this game when it was in the arcades (not that often) and when it came out on Raine a lot. And you give it a few goes and manage to complete the game in one go...!?

Do you use keyboard or joystick? (and btw do you slow the game down or something, how do you react so fast?)

oh yeah. how do you get that test screen in the beginning?? ANd does your score double when you finisch the game, or do you just get 1.000.000 bonus..?

Anyways, got myself a score to break. Haven't been able to so far.

For what it's worth, I haven't had "just a few goes" at Blood Brothers either. I played it quite a bit in the arcade (although I never was really that good at it), and played a fair amount of it on RAINE. When it's on MAME I'm more determined to finish it on one credit. Anyway, my best guess is that skills from Nam-1975 and Cabal carry over? I actually learned Nam-1975 first, and got the hang of the controls down, eventually able to finish the game in one credit in the arcade... then I had to re-learn it when it was emulated. As for Blood Bros though... I dunno, I guess bomb stockpiling helps out a lot :P

I use a six-button Interact PC Powerpad Pro/MakoPad. I can set up all three buttons in a row for easy access. And my computer is a P2-450, so slowing the game down isn't an option ;)

As for the test screen, I have no clue. Sometimes it comes up, sometimes it doesn't... maybe the button I'm pushing to advance past the game information screen triggers the test menu too? Doesn't seem like any of the dip switches can be changed just yet.

And there's no score doubling, the game awards exactly [said in a Dr. Evil voice] one meeel-yon points! If you die on the last boss and continue, the score will be just over a million.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be able to beat my score soon :)
