Thinking of getting the Tamron 1.4X TC for the above combination. Has anyone tried the above combination? Does this combination autofocus? Thanks

Best way is to test this out at the local store. You can never tell with 3rd party equipment.

I had this identical combination: N90s, Tokina 400/5.6 AT-X AF, Tamron 1.4x AF-d TC. It autofocused fine, but slowly.
