help! nothing serious, just need help trying to post a .gifgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Forum Moderators : One Thread |
Hi,Diane, thanks for your email regarding how to put a .gif file into a thread. However, because I'm on AOL <
>, when I received your email the actual html source info didn't come through. It was blank! Is there a way you can put something in here and I can then just view the source to see how it works?
Also, if this is a posted file which resides on my computer, does this mean that the image is then linked to me as the "server" where the file resides, therefore it must be always on and may even allow for someone to have access to other files on my system?
The mind boggles...
Thanks!

MikeYou have to put the full url to the gif. That seems to be why it won't work.
Is the gif on line? If it is just hold the mouse down and select copy url and paste in code.

Michael, Leska & Ashton,What I've noticed is that sometimes the line (of URL text) breaks at the wrong point and adds a space, then you get the broken image link. Has to be fixed at the Admin s/w level.
This is the code I use for graphics...
< img src="XXX" >
Added extra space after the < and before the > take those out
Replace the three XXX's with the full graphic location and name...
< img src="http://www.whatever.com/mysiteindex/something.gif" >
(Take out those extra spaces)
Gayla's source for animate gif graphics...

Hope this helps.

Robert, you incorrigible snooty heathen! Sounds like you haven't taken a test drive recently of the Insanely Latest & Greatest. BTW, engineered from the Get-Go with No Y2K "issues," superior everything, not a contributor to TEOTWAWKI. Hope you see the Mac light before Darkness hits.Diane, thanks!
