Color comparison .... what's real??!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Having gone through the higher res pix on the comparometer thingie, everything else aside, I was astonished at how much the color varied from one camera to another. Does anyone know what color hair the lady in the pix actually has? *G* I mean, is it pink, bright yellow or ash blonde? e.g. The Nikon Coolpix (as recommended to me and probably what I will buy) has excellent detail but I am wondering how accurate the bright yellow hair is v. the real colors is.

The "live" lady's hair (outdoor and indoor shots) actually varies over time, thanks to modern cosmetic technology. (One of the problems with "real" subjects vs the posters.) The blond lady in the Musicians poster has very pale hair, more or less light straw colored. (How's that for colorimetric precision?)
