At Risk UK Finance Houses

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

If anyone is interested, there are several UK financial institutions which have been assessed as being unlikely to comnplete rectifications in time for year end. One of them is said to be a High Street name. The FSA are declining to tell us who they are but may release names in September. This is the address of the press release. www.fsa.gov.uk/press/1999/july/fsa0069.htm Sorry, I don't know how to put it in link form. Can anyone find out who they are? There are a lot of us over here who would quite like to know.

Liz,

You've come to the right place as this story appeared here last month or early this month.

I don't think anyone knows which ones are in trouble, but perhaps someone else has posted it or could supply some of the links to our discussions of the issue.

Liz, in link form it's

FSA Press Release

We've certainly had no word on who the institutions are, though. I can imagine it would have you a bit nervous.

nothere, your reply was totally rude. A person -- newcomer? -- came on the forum asking for information and you post a smart aleck reply because she hasn't followed every days happenings. Why did you even bother replying?

Sorry, nothere, I read your first line as a "yeah, we discussed that below somewhere, so buzz off" remark. On re-reading, I acted too fast.
