Contrast Filters

I have been reading argument upon argument in regards to contrast filters and the difference between manufactures. Do you feel that there is a difference between Ilfords MG contrast filters and Kodaks Polycontrast filters.

I've used both and I'm sticking with the Ilford. Point to note, I also use Ilford papers. It seemed to me that with the Kodak filters, there had to be an adjustment of exposure time as you changed filters. With the Ilford filters, exposure time stays the same from "00" to "3 1/2". For the "4" and above, I need to had about 2/3 stop exposure.
