Sending digital pix to a service bureau?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a low res Fuji DX-9, and have taken a couple of nice picture that I would like to have printed as standard 5x7 glossy photos. Three questions: first, can I do anything to get the resolution up and make the images more sharp? second, how do I get red eye out? third, where do I send the files to get the prints made? Is there a web-based service where I can email the files, and they will enhance the image and send me the finished photos?

Thanks.

James, I've been watching this for the last few days hoping someone would reply (I can't from work) but any large photo lab nowadays should have a ftp site where you can upload your images for output to hard copy, transparencies, or negative film. I don't know where you live, but certainly there is someone close to you who can provide the services you require. In terms of image enhancement it's up in the air. Low res images are just that-low res images, and the final product is limited by many variables. Expectations may be high, but output may be limited. I regularly work with a $32,000 Canon digital camera. Outputs are nothing approaching film scans.
