I am trying to decided between purchasing a Sony DCR-TR310 for $999 or a JVC GR-DVF10U for $599. What are the pros and cons here? Is the digital8 picture quality equal to the MiniDv? Will both allow me to download to my computer?

(I presently own a Sony CCD-TR33 NTSC and a Sony Mavica FD-81.)

Answers

You may want to consider the Canon Elura as well. It is a superior product using MiniDV tape format, with very light weight design (true palm unit).
