SONOMA VALLEY PLANS JULY 24TH Y2K MEETING

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Sonoma County : One Thread

The next meeting of the Sonoma Valley Y2K Preparedness Group will be Saturday, July 24th, 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Sonoma Public Library, West Napa St.,

As always, free and open to the public. The meeting will consider the current status of the Y2K issue. Suggested focus topic: WATER - SOURCES, STORAGE, PURIFICATION. There will be presentations by various people on aspects of water storage and purification. Suggestions welcome.

Although the Y2K issue seems to have receded from the public's and the media's attention screen, it's not hard to realize that the underlying issues have not gone away. Those who have been following some of Tom Atlee's and Robert Theobald's postings on the Internet, as well as reading the recent book JUST IN CASE, will know that excellent work is still being done by many activists in all parts of the country and the world, to heighten awareness of the fragility of our economy/ecology and the need for community consciousness-raising.

Dates of future meetings planned:

Saturday, August 21st, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (note different time than usual); Topic: POWER, ALTERNATIVE ENERGY, ETC.

Saturday, Sept 18th, 3:00 to 5:00 pm (note different time); Topic: FOOD -- SUPPLIES, STORAGE, ETC.
