Questions: Nikon 950 camera/ Adobe Photoshop 5

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I would like all input from owners of the Nikon 950 digital camera that have run their images through the Adobe Photoshop 5 software. I seek to print pictures on my HP deskjet printer. Some images will be sent via E mail to friends. I would like to hear from anyone who has made sharply detailed pictures. What is the largest you can print that will hold very sharp detail? I wish to know all your favorite procedures using the Photoshop 5 program. I am new to digital photography so all user input will be copied and kept in my my files for references. You can E mail me in lenght on your work as I am extremely interested in learning from users. Contact me direct at: talltandj@aol.com Thanks, Tom Ferko

Hi Tom, Sorry for the slow response... You can actually check this yourself: Download the high-resolution sample images from the Pictures page from the CP950 review here on our site, and try printing them yourself! - We also just posted an article on sharpening in Photoshop that you should find very useful, along with some of the other articles listed on the "Tips and FAQs" page. (Click that heading in the left-hand navigation bar on our site.) Good luck!

I recommend 1600X1200 image size and storage option of "fine" method if you want to print it on 8X10 photo paper. And also I recommend the high glossy photo paper from Epson. You only need 1024x768 pixels for 6x4" photo papers. If you use any cheap regular papers, its quality will suffer drastically.
