Olympus C2000 "Not CE Certified"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I went to www.shopper.com to price the Olympus C-2000, and was given the notation "Not CE Certified". What does this mean? Should I be concerned?

CE certification is used within Europe to certify a product meets certain safety standards. A reasonable explanation of it is at http://www.polyamp.se/eng/cemark.html. If you are in a country outside Europe CE certification of a product is not required to sell it. Olympus C2000-Zs sold in Europe are CE certified.
