What does the release of MAMENet mean for MARP?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

First, what is MAMENet? MAMENet is a piece of software I picked off from Arcade@Home, but I believe it was released by a RetroGames member of the MAMEDEV team. MAMENet is an extension of MAME32 V35 FINAL, which includes the implementation of networking, I believe it includes TCP/IP - but I've heard it's very buggy :( Although... I just found out there's a MAMENet page(http://members.tripod.com/~adcockm), and I've found out that it may be done completely by MAME 36 beta 2! Woohoo!

But what does this mean? It means before too long we can play against each other in our favorite games in friendly combat(I hope :) ) Hopefully we can play against each other over a simple 28.8 modem. This would be... so... kewl! Oh... and I know exactly what my first challenge would like to be... nope... not giving information at this time. :)

OK... I'm done blabbering... we now return you to your regularly scheduled internet session :)

Note the change of email first, until hotmail resumes, I'm there. It's now on day 8 of the Hotmail downfall. ;-( Now, gb, we have seen the signs since mame32 35b12. It would rock!!! We all know what your challenge would be, vs BBH in Money Puzzle Exchanger. BTW, gb your game is available at the ROM page. Update: Currently accepting requests to post (who knows for how long) to put up on the tourney page. Also, a shoot for number is on all 12 tourney games.. Zwaxy, contact me at the address given for this message, how to anchor the table... Ok, now it's back to your regularly scheduled internet session ;-)

You know, I'd personally love to take on German Krol in Badlands...=) If they allowed recordings in MAMEnet, there's a shot we could do a head to head tournament in co-op games...that'd be really fun...but that'd be a long shot... However, I couldn't compete, my computer is still a 133Mhz Pentium I with a 56k...BUT I'm on AOL...=(

Oh alright Chris... you got me :)

But another good competition would be me vs. Chris Parsley in 10 yard fight :) I'd think that'd also be a very interesting match :)

I could probably also think up of a couple more matches... maybe not as competitive... but interesting to say the least.

Catch yall later :)

With a 58 now posted on miexchng, I hope you two young men (CP & GB) have learned a lesson about gettin' the JoustGod all riled up! Hmmm...not even considered for that MAMEnet challenge...hmmm. You'll just have to admire from afar, my boys...;)

I would like to make it for the record that I did NOT assume that you're a bad player Mr. JoustGod. I picked BBH because he was more dominant at the time. As a matter of fact, I'll play you as well :)

I'll probably lose... but oh well... it's the fun that counts :)

BTW... I would also like to make it for the record that I'm back and have reupdated the stats page :) Nice to see that Renzo Vignola has entered the tournament - welcome aboard :)
