Image Comparisons ?? HOW

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

In the image comparisons section. Do they have the same people dress in the same clothes and take new pictures every time a new camera comes out that they review. I find it very interesting how the people in the photo's looks don't change much and the landscaping in front of the house has not grown. How are the image comparison shots done ??

Call me stupid but I would like to know.

If you're stupid, then so am I. I pondered the same enigma until I discovered that Dave uses posters. When you think about it, you'll realize it's the only way to accomplish truly fair and controlled comparisons. (The one that really threw me was the "Musicians" picture until I discovered how it was done.)

Barbara's right about the posters - Some of the shots are taken of "live" subjects though, to provide an alternative. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, combining live shots & posters helps cover all the bases. If you go to the Comparometer, and click the large "!" icon at the bottom, you'll get a page that tells more than you probably care to know about how we arrived at the test s
