Scanning 110 negs with the Photosmart S20

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have an HP Photosmart S20 and a lot of old 110 negatives. Has anyone figured out a way to scan these with the S20? I am considering mounting them and scanning them as slides, but I think I will then need a better software package than provided with the scanner (I believe that it will only recognize slides as positive, and that this will cause problems - I may be wrong). Can anyone suggest better s/w, if this is, indeed, a viable solution?

Thanks! :-)

You'll give up some resolution, but you might try going to Office Max and buying some clear report covers. Cut them down to approximately 35mm net width (Keep the fold) and inserting the 110 negs in them. Then put this into your scanner. This may - or may not work, but it's certainly worth the $1.50 it would take to try!
