I repost -- on appeal!! Sign this petition, please, if you miss Killer. He was fun! After reading his post, I felt like going out and finding a flag to salute!! Why was MY petition to bring him back deleted, but Harry H.'s petition to keep Killer away? How "fair" and right is that in the "home of the free and the land of the brave"?

Although the facts he addressed were harsh, they were legitimate. Self defence is not accomplished by wishing hard. If you think you may have to defend yourself with deadly force, you MUST consider many of the things he addressed.

I'm making laminated copies of topo maps of my area. I'm figuring out the best places for roadblocks if it becomes necessary to "island" our area. Much better to deal with intruders from a prepared position away from your home than with your kids cowering in the basement.

I thought Killer chose to be absent due to work demands. You do have to grow a "second skin" to deal with forums and I wish discussions could be civil. However, Killer's focus was on the sociological consequences of Y2K. I can't fault his focus on the technical concentration of his views - others can be equally technically focused on IT issues. We already know Y2K is not a programming failure, it's a management and policy failure.

Sounds like it was a good thread, which I missed.

Y2K may be a computer problem, but the cause was management (sociological), and the FALLOUT will be sociological.

Anyone that has read any history knows that the Y2K "science fiction" scenarios are quite possible. Anyone who thinks that everyone is gonna be operating on a "cain't we all jes get along" mantra if TSHTF will be pushing up daisies.

Most people don't want to admit the necessity for self-defense for one of two reasons -- 1) this culture has "pussified" them, or 2) they know they don't have and can't get a a good defensive position.

Learning how to kill other people from a great distance doesn't seem liek defense to me it sounds like Killer is just too scared to handle life up close and personal so he decides to be a sniper. gee how noble. Yeah, I picked up my assault rifle today. Pretty glad to have it. My thinking is better safe than sorry. For you nimrods out there who live in dreamland, buy a scanner and listen in some time. Do it at night and count the number of shots fired calls. I did it last night and lost track after 7! That's just one sector of my big city (smaller than LA and bigger than Cleveland) in a two hour period! Imagine what that would be like with lites out and no alarms!

Also, go to a rifle range sometime and take a look at who's shooting along side you. I can tell you, it's all vatos, bruthas and skinheads from every possible gang configuration known to man.

That whole, well if the world is ending then it wont matter shit just won't fly when some cold hearted bastard steps up and points a weapon at you. You'll be wishing killer was out there watching your six.
