P67MLU Mount Modification

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

Does anybody know places which performs mount surgery to make the pentax 67 accept Carl Zeiss lenses instead? Esp the of FCC/TCC Hassy.

Is there any possibility to modify the flash since of the body to 1/60 or 1/125?

Thanks.

You are making an assumption that the Zeiss glass is better than Pentax. Please see the thread in this forum that addresses this issue. The limitations of the Pentax are not optically caused. If you study optical design, you will find an amazing similarity between the major producers in their designs. This is because there are established designs that everyone uses. Notice the similarity in cross section between SLR normal lenses. They are almost all Double Gauss. For the 200mm length, the Ernostar design is used quite often. For lenses that cover the 60 degree field of view, the French Retrofocus design is used mostly. For the 90 degree field of view, most use German Reversed Telephoto designs based on the Leitz Super-Angulon-R. I don't recommend modifying the P67 lens mount. The Pentax lenses are not the problem.
