(OT)Meteor explodes over New Zealand

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I went home for lunch today, turned on CNN headlines and caught the tail-end of a story where it said meteor the size of a car explodes over New Zealand. Did anybody else catch that. Things are getting scary.

If it's a big meteor, then NZ's in trouble. But most aren't that big and merely constitute monotony-breaking eye-candy for the the onlookers. Meteors hit the earth and explode in the atmosphere all the time; it's nothing new.
