Flash usage with off center subject on EOS 5/A2E

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

For starters, I've been searching the archives and practically the whole of photo.net for almost 5 days, but haven't managed to locate a satisfactory answer to my question - SO PLEASE PLEASE help me out!!

My query is : Does the flash program on the EOS 5 work with off-center subjects when the camera is in Av,Tv or M modes (I know it does work in fully automatic mode, but I never use that mode) ? I've read a thread that states that the flash does work for off center subjects, but for that the focusing point must be chosen manually but that was with respect to fully automatic mode. As I've stated above, I'm interested in shooting in Av, Tv or M mode. Please please please.. could someone answer my question or at least point me in the right direction ?

Exhaustedly yours, Neville

Neville, i just stumble upon your querry and here's what you can have. I have tried once with fill flash on shutter priority mode but without using or disengaging the eye control; that is letting the camera choose the focusing zone. And i say i got one fine shot...try it.
